HP photo printer

My HP 1300 series photo printer has stopped working correctly. I can print from my computer, but my printer will not scan,and the camera disc slot will not function. Can anyone help to resolve the problem? I have not removed anything, to my knowledge, that may have affected the printer working. I am using windows XP home, mozilla firefox for internet and thunderbird for e-mails. Any help much appreciated. Many thanks, Stan

At least this one can`t be blamed on Vista!
Seriously though,have you tried getting in touch with HP?I have a Deskjet F380 and a couple of times I have had problems- the first was my fault and the second just software problem but both times I got a prompt reply with all the necessary instructions to solve the prob.Excellent both times.
I`m not experienced enough to hand out advice personally but you could try that.
