New Hard drive

I have just had a new hard drive fitted and after a while in use my PC freezes and then clears itself but keeps repeating this process which as you can imagine is annoying ! I am running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 ... all is the same as before which was fine until the drive change . Any help or advice please?

Hello Vince2008 and welcome to the WU forums.
I guess the first thing is who fitted the new drive and where did it come from? If the problem only started after adding the drive, then it could be suspect of a fault.
