scheduling

evening all
can anyone tell me if i can schedule:-
adaware se personal free
spybot s&d free
and avg 7.5 antivirus free
to run on specified days and times...e.g.adaware at 6.00.p.m. on monday.
i ask this because it's advised to check for and download updates prior to running these programmes.
if i can, do i need specific software or can i do it direct,if so could you please tell me how because i am a bit green when it comes to this sort of thing.

yours in anticipation
many thanks...............steve.
i am running windows xp sp2 on aol silver

Re: scheduling

Hi munsy . Spybot and AVG can both be set up to run scans to a specified time. However it's not going to benefit you with regards to updates.
It is correct that you should check for and download updates prior to running these programmes . In the case of AVG you should be getting automatic updates almost daily , and if not , you need to set it up to do so. Let me know if you need help with this.
With Spybot you will have to update manually. I'm not sure about Adaware as i don't use it.

Easiest and surest way to make sure you're fully updated........every time you boot up your pc......get into this habit....... first thing to do , manually check for updates via the programmes options. It only takes seconds to do and will give you peace of mind.
For added certainty , any time you're going to run a scan , check for updates first.

HI FIFEFLYER
many thanks for your reply.
yes avg does indeed automatically download updates every day, whilst spybot and adaware need an update search and download every time i run scans, which i do on a regular basis,so it looks like i can't be lazy after all,oh well never mind, thats life.
cheers..............munsy.
