Wrong DVD
|
|
I have a Dell XP desktop, and about two months ago I also bought a Dell laptop, but have never used the vista DVD unit up till now. When I ran a DVD it told me that it is not suitable for this geographical area and I should get a compatible DVD. I have used this DVD on my Dell desktop with no probs. in the past. Is it a case of contacting Dell - which I dread.

Try opening your Device Manager:
Start (Vista Orb) > Search dialog box > Type: devmgmt.msc > Enter
Click on the DVD/CD Drive > Double click your device > DVD Region > Scroll down to United Kingdom > OK
You have a limited amount of changes in this option to supposedly prevent piracy. You can have unlimited amounts, but it's not for me to advise.
