My DVD films do not Play

I am unable to play any DVD film on this computer with either Realplayer or Window Media player Have Updated Both programs To the Latest version and Still getting Nothing just and Unable to play message No error code

Is there a free standalone DVD player you can recommend?
Is it worthwhile using one of those 3rd party Multi codec programs to run Film Dvds on the Players?
such as BSplayer 1.37.826,Codec Pack All-In-1 6.0.3.0

My old computer had no problem playing these Same Players and Windows XP Professional (on Both)

Try VLC Media player from HERE .
It seems to play anything I want with no trouble at all.

The K-Lite Codec pack will playback your DVD's and you can still use WMP to playback your movies.

Re: My DVD films do not Play (Issue fixed)

Thank you for your Suggestions

I am now viewing my films again I am using the VLC Media player which as bobnemesis says does what it says. with no Bother
It has a minimal "Toolbar "interface but lots of things on the Menus including a quite good equaliser sound setup section ...Most of the Menus are beyond me But the basic controls are easy to work and I have seen plenty of "Reset to default" buttons should you get in a mess
I have been playing Region 1 ,2 (aka.II(a)) and 3 .Still got to try a Region 4 Disk
Is a bit slow to find(and read) some disks But I think we have about an 8/10 Success rate

Have noted there is no Region Lock on this Program which several other 3rd Party media players have.
This means that after so many switches the Region on the last disk is the Only region that can be played
And you may be able to restore it only by an uninstall /reinstall? If not Install another player
Only interface that needs work (in a future version) is the Keyboard functions Found I could slow down the Video yet the speed up key did not work (not many Slo-Mo steps!)
I'm going to give this a mark of 8/10. Would have been a 9 but for the Keyboard Issues and the " way too Much" settings. which are beyond the average user. Why don't they lock them in a "More advanced settings" menu?
Visuals/ motion are 100% (on full screen) Sound is 100%
