iPod and iTunes help please

I have managed to transfer the contents of my iPod into the library on iTunes on my fairly new pc.
However, although all the information appears to be there, eg artwork, I cannot access the "Get info" function. For example, if I want to change a track title, I cannot do this as it is all greyed out.
Any ideas please?
