I-Tunes to MP3 Player

Can someone help please ?
I have just bought my daughter an MP3 player. As I already own an Ipod and have my music on I-Tunes, I want to copy some of these files onto her MP3. However, it seems as though the file format for my files on I-Tunes (MPEG4) is different to what is compatible for the MP3 player (WMA).
Can anyone explain please, in simple terms ( ! ) the best way to resolve this ?
