Windows Media Player 11 won't stream video.

Dear Anyone.

Got WMP11. I go to any video streaming sites which use an embedded WMP - like lordoftv.com, my fave site! - and all that shows up is the Windows Media Player symbol in the middle of their embedded screen. No pics/sound.

If I find the URL where the actual stream originates and put it into VLC the stream works fine. But, of course, you can't lazily click on another channel - you have to go to another website, find its streaming page URL and copy that into VLC - yeah, it works, but it's a chore!

Once - and once only - by right-clicking on the World Made Channel embedded screen, on its website NOT on Lordoftv, I got an error message 'filter not set'. That's the only time I got that, I tried right-clicking on the player window on other sites and got nothing. Now the filter is what makes the stream usable by Windows Media Player, am I right in this? This isn't JUST a lordoftv problem, similar sites have also stopped working. And the annoying thing about WMP11 is that you no longer have an address bar - unless it's hiding somewhere -so you can't try going to lordoftv from INSIDE WMP11 to see if that helps.

How do I set the filter, if you think that's the true problem?

Yours puzzledly - WMP9 worked fine, but I've tried returning to WMP9 and that doesn't work now either!
