i have power dvd version on my computor that came with my computor i e-mailed cyberlink to ask of a up-grade to which i can buy a new version was wondering if there are any free ones out there >?

Have you tried their website? If not, just google ''Free Power DVD'' and whatever version and there might be one on an independent site such as download.com.
I don't know if there's an update out there or if they've brought out a newer version but try that and you should find out
