DVD RW disks won't work in driver

Hi all,
I'm trying to burn a home made DVD video onto a DVD + RW disk. I've tried it on 2 disks and it says it won't recognize the disks, even though it says on the driver its a DVD R/RW. What could be wrong please?

Which software are you using to burn the DVD?
