Re: windows media player 11

Make sure DMA is set on all drives (hard drives, cd-rom, dvd-rom, dvd burners). If it's set to PIO it'll use almost all your CPU to transfer data and is a common complaint as to why it's taking forever or people exerperiencing buffer underruns while attempting to burn DVDs.

You can change this in device manager.

To get to device manager do the following:

Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties Double-click on your DVD burner and/or DVD-ROM

Double click on Primary IDE Channel and also Secondary IDE Channel Verify all Devices 0,1,2,3 are all set to DMA. Make sure you reboot for the DMA mode to take effect.

Re: windows media player 11

Just to check that the drive is now set to DMA?

Download the latest firmware for this drive too here

Re: windows media player 11

Other than reinstalling WMP and checking you have all the latest updates for Windows, I'd stick to using other software to BURN media with.

Re: windows media player 11

It's one feature I've never used with WMP and I don't think I need it either, other software manages it better anyway.

I stick with WMP as my media player and library, as it integrates with my 360 for sharing movies, music and photos with the console.
