Sonic Stage problems

I have a Sony NW-E005 mp3 player and it uses Sonic Stage. However, I'm having terrible problems in (a) deleting all tracks (so I can freshen it up) and (b) get it to work full stop.

I plugged the mp3 player into a USB port but the Sonic Stage is giving me a "The parameter is incorrect" error message dialog box, which isn't disappearing.

Has anyone had similar problems like this and what solutions can you recommend? I'm so frustrated I might go back to my cheap and cheerful AIGO one.

Cheers

PJ

Re: Sonic Stage problems

I used to have a Sony .mp3 player and had nothing but trouble with Sonic Stage, in the end I had to sell it and move on.

Have you tried to reinstall the software?

Re: Sonic Stage problems

Instead of junking it and moving on why not try reformatting the player and then reconnecting it to Sonicstage. This usually works although you lose the tracks on the player.

Re: Sonic Stage problems

How do I reformat the player?

I'm not fussy about losing the tracks I have on the player as I have them stored elsewhere.

Re: Sonic Stage problems

Your player is flash memory whereas mine is hard drive, but I think there should be a way to reformat your player in its menu. Have a look in the manual or just check your menu. If all else fails there is a plugin available for Winamp that works with Sony MP3 players, however it is only at beta stage of development but might be worth a look instead of using Sonic Stage. Read about and/or download the plugin here:
