I have XP and also have a genius microphone and it works, is it possible to tape some phrases onto the PC or onto a CD?? If so how??

Re: Can I tape my voice??

Go to:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound recorder.
Select record and speak into your mic.

You can play about with the effects etc, but you can save your short (up to 60 seconds) recording via File > Save as.

Have fun.

I highly recommend trying Goldwave - it's been around as shareware for many years, and the current free download (limited to 1000 uses) is very good.

You can create a new file of whatever length you want, and simply start recording. (You will need to set the correct input that ytou want to record from in your soundcard's mixer software or in multimedia settings. These settings can normally be accessed via the program, i.e. goldwave as well)

I got it from the shareware music machine at www.hitsquad.com but I'm sure it's on Download.com as well as other places.

Google for Audacity, excellent for many audio functions, recording just being one of them.
