cant stream anything

I am unable to stream any files of any format over the net, I cant even use launchcast which is built into yahoo messenger, I am sure that somewhere along the way i have deleted a file which deals with this as it used to work, Have turned off all firewalls and done the obvious stuff, if anyone had any ideas what I may have done would be great to hear them.

ianm , how long is it since it last worked ? Do you have a system restore point you can go back to ?

I have dragged my heels with this problem, it's now been about a month i think. Had not thought of that however will give it a go.
