A bit of both really.

A recent upgrade to a SE K850i has seen me gain 3G. Maybe someone would expleain to this non-techie guy what exactly this means?. I'm under the impression that it means I get good reception. But I'm in a good reception area so maybe I'm wrong in my assumption.

Shorthand for Third Generation. In it's final configuration it is designed to allow broadband internet connections at up to 7mb. Do you use your phone for anything other than phone calls? Would you like to use it for anything else?

Re: A bit of both really.

Would I ?, well as Mavis would say "I don't really know". Currently I only use it for phone/text and camera. I assume now that I can access the net, but at what cost?. My wife would say I sit on my PC all day as it is, if I access the net on buses or in bed, I suppose I'd be an addict. But getting back to the comment, what would it cost?.

There I'm afraid I can't help you. Log on to the web site of your phone service provider and from there you should be able to find a price table. My guess is that as you can already connect to a 3G network your only additional cost will be if you want to exceed your current download limit, whatever that is.

And have you logged onto the TalkTalk site to see what it says about 3G?
