hi i was looking on e-bay can someone tell me what unlocked means on a mobil phone im on o2 network so does that mean i have to look for a phone that takes o2 sim cards as i want to keep same number xxx

Unlocked means that the phone isn't locked to a certain network, i.e. regardless of the sim card it will work.
If a phone is locked to a network, then whichever network has locked it, then only a sim card from that network can be used in that phone.
