Greyst & Fusion: Thanks for yr suggestion(s) but I'm a bit baffled... As I said in the original question: at the time of the crash the missing pix had already been cut from the peg to the C drive. But when the machine rebooted they were not visible on the C drive, and only the remaining, not-yet-cut, pix remained on the peg - ie the ones it hadn't got round to doing at the time of the crash. So if the 'transferred' pix survive at all they must be somewhere on the C drive, not the peg, tho perhaps in a temporary format??? And I'm afraid I don't follow yr suggestions anyway... if I do find any files, where do I find 'restoration' or 'restore by copying'? I have double checked the peg using Search; only the uncut pix remain. But as I said, on the hard drive is a half-meg file (not folder) called OBJECTS.DATA made at the time of the crash, which I suspect is the temporary form of the pictures made during tranfer. Anyone know if / how I can get this file transformed into the pictures? |
