Thanks for replying.

We have run all the diagnostic tree, every last bit of it! And the CD, well we have 2, one is for the roxio cd burning thingy that came pre loaded on the machine and the other just states its a recovery disk.

It now shows an additional message...
PXE/ E61 MEDIA TEST FAILURE

...which sounds deathly to me.

I have googled it but its all techno babble to me, something about the harddrive. Which i know is the brain of the machine but does that mean its recoverable or is headed for the micro chips in the sky?!

Grrrrr, that Son of mine. I love him but he's grounded for ever! And pocket money- forget it LOL!!!
