Re: Installing RAM and an assortment of other problems.

I didn't check up on crucial initially, I just took one of the old cards out and down to the shop.(Everest Technology - www.everest-tech.co.uk)and requested one the same type, but with more memory. The one they provided read off the reciept is an ADATA 128mb SDRAM PC100 my computer crashed when i was trying to find out about it earlier.

I have tried Crucial now and it says my model (it couldn't work it out from the scan) should have max capacity of 512mb, so mine should show up easily 224mb in total, it also says I don't need pairs, and can't use Dual Channel or ECC memory.

I tried just having the new 128mb one in but it just bleeped loudly when i turned it on. However it did recognize 32mb when i only had one of the 32mb ones in with it. So it is detecting differences.

Thanks, Brian
