Hi,
I agree with Ray as regards automatic updates. Your best method for installing SP1 is to download the 'Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Five Language Standalone' version and save it to a CD. You can then install from there. A link to this is given below. If you cannot click directly on this link, copy the link into your browser.
