Deleting a partition

I have 2 partitions on my laptop, one of them has Vista and all of my programs on, the other is empty. Is there a way of deleting the empty partition so there is just one partition on my laptop?
I dont have an actual Vista installation disk, just a Gateway 'recovery disk'.
