How to sort Administrator User Profile error

Dear All
Please can someone help me as I cannot use my laptop at present
I am receiving the error "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded" - This is on the only Administrator account. Guest Account logs on OK
My machine uses Windows Home Vista Premium (OEM version)
I was literally using it 20 mins before I got this error
I've seen this error referred to quite a lot in Google but I cannot find a step by step solution for its resolution.
