I recently bought my Mum a second hand computer off a friend,she does not plan to get an internet connection,not having a landline phone,always been put off by line rental charges etc.The computer runs on windows xp and has a cd drive.To enable her to watch dvd's on it,I also got her an external dvd drive.The nero disc that came with it wouldn't load whatever I did with it,thus the computer won't recognise a dvd when put in it.Can anyone suggest anything I could download to my(internet connected)computer that I could transfer to my Mum's(via an external hard drive)to get it to play dvd's?Or is there a way of getting windows media player to do the job without messing with the registry?
