Sorry for the delay - didn't realise post had been moved. Anyway, as to the format, the files are avi from torrent downloads(is that what you meant?), I usually try to use Super DVD Creator first, I'm pretty sure I've used Nero in the past, and I've recently tried winavi video converter. In all cases if the process starts it either causes the application to stop with an error message, or the computer freezes and I have to reboot. The video file is not faulty in itself, I've checked that, and plays fine on the PC, just won't convert to another format.
