You are right Peter, the subject needs research and a carefully put-together article. When our editor Claire was deputy-editor I seem to remember she was often on the look out for article-fodder. Perhaps she could ask a staff member to do it. Or I'm sure if she received a well reasoned piece from a subscriber she would be pleased to publish it. I sometimes think that maybe, if we all pay a small amount per e-mail; or perhaps the Chancellor could put a tax on them. The bill for a private user or a small business need not be much and it might deter 'spammers' who I feel sure could be traced by The Inland Revenue. It amazes me that 'spamming' is cost effective. Real people never read them - except for gullible grandads who think they've won a laptop ! . |
