OS - XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3 Hi, I'm new to this site and hope to try and find some answers to a computer problem. I recently had someone install the bought version of AVG8. After Norton's I was happy with the AVG until the other day after it's usual daily scan it "picked up" on two files with the Trojan Generic10.BDRL in them. One file is hp recovery wizard and the other system volume information. AVG has secreted the files in the virus vault. However, on googling the trojan name I came across someone else with exactly the same problem, same trojan same two files, then I read about false positives with AVG8 and now I'm wondering if there really IS a trojan in these two files? AVG deletes the contents of the virus vault in 30 days so I don't want to just leave them and then find out I need the files (I don't know much about this sort of thing). I can't find Trojan Generic10.BDRL listed anywhere only against this problem, so is it a real trojan, is it something or nothing and what do I do about it please? Would value your help and appreciate what you have to say. Many thanks oldbean |
