It is by far the best solution in my opinion. You have the choice of hard drive up to 750Gb (and even 1 Tb in some cases), and can be cheaper than purpose built external HDDs Also you could consider a NAS (network assisted storage) caddy which uses ethernet, rather than USB to connect to a network, which makes it easier for multiple devices on a network to use the device, unless you add in a USB server Alternatively you could consider a removeable SATA rack, allowing you to put in a drive as and when you want to back up, such as this one, most models have no theoretical limit to the size of drive |
