Talking of emergencies, are people aware of the ICE practice? Designate your emergency contact number (wife, husband, next of kin) on your mobile as ICE (In Case of Emergency), so if you're involved in an accident, someone can use your phone to get in touch with next of kin as soon as possible.
It took quite some time to reassure my wife that ICE wasn't some nickname that I had decided to give her, for whatever reason....
