wireless acess useing american bought router

Hi there my first post ,am on vaction in usa and would like to buy a wire less router to be used with virgin media and bt ,both of these are dial up at the moment--can you reccomend voltage disparity--is there a universal router for bt and virgin?or better to wait and buy in UK many thanks john,
