Any of you guys help somebody not very experienced in this old Wi-Fi thing! I have Sky Broadband, which, at a push, performs to my needs.(8Mb) -I use a Netgear Modem and a Belkin 54Mbps connection. I also have an Xbox 360 which I use an Ethernet cable (the PC is upstairs , Xbox downstairs) directly from the router into the Xbox -this works fine but am unable to use the internet at the same time?? (for example if I was downloading something on the PC, left it and went on the Xbox, I would have to switch the PC off - I can cope with that but having recently purchased a Wii, there is a function for a wireless connection to the internet which I have set up - however every time I go back on the PC, the internet is very very slow and only by turning the modem off and back on, will I get a decent speed (by decent I mean actually loading a page!) – I’m trying to establish whether this is to be expected and it’s the way it has to be or if there is anything that I can change to stop me getting frustrated about trundling downstairs and switching a modem on and off to get connected. Thanks in advance |
