The LAN connection (d) is your Network ca5rd, or Ethernet port. Leave it there as you never know if you may need it one day. You can disable it if the icon in the system tray bugs you. Right-click and select disable.

The 1394 is a firewire connection. It's usually used for transferring video from a DV camera. It was much faster than the old USB 1.0, but is similar speed to USB 2.0. For some reason it always shows as connected.
