Thank you for your very comprehensive reply. Had a quick look at the back of my Vista computer – can’t see a Network Interface Card, although the older computer has something that looks very like your photo detail. Since I have no real need for two computers to be connected to the internet, I will abandon my quest. The second computer was bought purely for photo and video editing, and it was the nine year old who suggested a connecting cable, which, at the time, seemed a good idea.
This is the first time I have ever used a forum and I am very impressed with the speed and the quality of the response, and many thanks to GMAC.
