Online gaming with Wanadoo Livebox

I've recently had a livebox from wanadoo and am currently playing Ps2 games online. The gaming is excellent but sometimes there is a delay when you press a button on your controller. This is particularly annoying when playing Pro Evolution Soccer 5. Has anyone else had this problem with the wanadoo livebox or is this the norm with online gaming with the ps2.
