Thanks again for your reply. In Device Manager the NIC looks OK. In Network Connection Properties of the LAN connection shows as follows:

General Tab: Client for MS Networks, File & Printer Sharing for MS Networks, MS TCP/IP v 6, and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) are all checked. Is this as it should be? On the Authentication Tab: Enable IEEEE 802.1x authentification for this network - not checked. On the Advanced Tab: Settings button for Windows Firewall but I have already disabled this when I installed ZAP
