If you have set your router up with encryption, say 128-bit WEP, you will have entered a pass phrase which will have generated 13 hex digit pairs which should be viewable and save changes. You must note these down. Return to your laptop, Control Panel>Wireless Networks>R/Click Wireless Connection>Properties>Wireless Networks>Preferred Network>Highlight yours>Properties>Data Encryption>Enter those noted numbers/letters>Confirm>OK Try that and see if you can connect.
