What wireless router can you recomend, that doesnt need a computer at both ends

hi,
i have ordered tiscali broadband, i dont think the modem comes with a rj 45 port, i want to have computer upstairs but my only phone point is down stairs, and i dont want wire running throught the house. could anyone recomend a wireless router thet i could just leave on its own with a pc connected to it via some sort of wire, also would i have to take computer downstairs and plug it into router to set it up then take it back up and install the wireless adapter.
