Welcome to the forums Kano,
£59.99 is a lot to pay for a router when you get them so much cheaper elsewhere.

It shouldn't really cause problems for a router, the bandwidth that both machines are using is unlikely to max out your connection. You have to remember that your network is only as fast as your slowest link, and in a network where multiple pcs are connected to the internet, the slowest link will be the internet connection itself
As for the xbox 360 connection, if you get a wireless router, no further kit is required, as the 360 is wireless 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g enabled, all you have to do is ensure that your router allows the necessary ports for hosting etc of games
