What wireless router and usb adapter ?

Hello, Newbie here.
There is a lot of good information on these forums. Thanx
However, I still need advice on what wirelss router and usb adapter to buy. I have been leaning towards the D-Link DSL-904 package at PCworld for £59.99. A friend has one and has 2 pc's connected and is very happy. However, he does not play online games and I have read that if you intend on playing games online a 54Mbps router may cause problems especially if the other machine (laptop in my case) is accessing the web. Would it be best to invest in a 108Mbps Router ? If so any ideas in what to buy ?
On a side note I have pre-ordered a Xbox 360. Would I be able to use the usb dongle from the dsl 904 (or any other models) with the xbox 360 or will i still need to buy their wireless networking adapter ?
