I'm loathe to do this as one of the first things I always do to IE8 is is bring up the tool bar (control and click on a neutral area) so there may be a far easier way to do this for those not as set in their ways as me
If not if you do it my way and go to Tools then Manage Add ons it will bring up a list of the add ons, then you can look for the one mentioned above. Click on it to highlight it and that will bring up the option to disable.
