Hi Bricat, firstly many thanks for your time and effort in helping me with this problem, It is much appreciated.
I did as you said and all now is fine. I was infected when my son claimed he was just watching video clips. I did have a couple of fake alerts and smitfraud. Spybot seemed to clear these but only 1 at a time after which it always froze. i was then left with the zlob problems.
