256 MB RAM is insufficient these days, I suggest going here and scan your system to find out whats required.

Also defrag the hard drive.

The HJT log look fine now.

Thanks for including the AVG 8 report. Give it a few days and then empty the virus vault if everything is OK.

If the computer is running well you will need to update to Service pack 3. I've already done a few computers without any issues at all.

Also install the recovery console if you haven't already done so.
