thanks for the reply, the guy i'm trying to help has a small business, the company that set the server up was charging Ł400 per month on maintance, for the last 6 months my guy didn't need them and thus a lot of money was wasted, not so long ago my guy cancelled the maintance, if he called them out for this they will charge him a fortune.
They did set it up right, just that norton tried to upgrade itself a weekago and then they got the error, i looked on the net and sure enough norton was to blame, i followed all the intructions but it wasn't till the end that I found out the server machine also had norton.
The easiest option ( i thought ) would be to get their emails and forward them on. :(
