Re: selling a cd

Why not talk to your own site hosts? If they are running Plesk for the site owners' site admin, there is an option on the Plesk desktop allowing you to give trusted users web access to your area (or a limited part of it), and you can control what parts they can reach. If your siteadmin desktop is not Plesk, check with your web hosts if a similar facility exists.

If that applies, you could allow him to set up a page on your site within its own folder and restrict his access to just that area. You would give him his own username and password, then set restrictions on where and what that login can access withoin the siteadmin function.

Then he could get himself a URL pointer to provide a unique site name for advertising purposes. Caveat: if you do this, then as the account holder, you will become liable to the web hosting company for anything he does there, including violating their Terms of Use or any law, and for any damage he may cause to their services. Guess it depends how trusted a friend he is? As for the bandwidth costs his page causes, that is for you two to negotiate, but to the hosts you are responsible for settlement as the account holder with them.
