I've ff3 beta 5 installed too and from what i can tell, it searches your history and bookmarks to help you get to the site you want faster. it can at times be rather useful especially if you have several sites linked of one main one, the BBC being a good example i have the BBC news and Dr who sites in my bookmarks and they come up whenever i type www.bbc. so it's nothing to be worried about and can take a little getting used to and now i love it.
