IE6 automatically jumps back to previous page - bug or virus?

First time here, and an embarrassingly lame techie when it comes to such gigs. Anyway, just had WLAN/DSL installed on my German-language laptop (English-language native living in Germany who doesn't understand German that well) and second day this craziness started:
So... for example, I open Explorer to my home page (Google), then I go to, e.g., hotmail... shortly after I am on hotmail my browser is quickly (automatically) redirected back to the previous page!
Any tips?
