firefox download problem...please help

i aint no computer whizz but i like to think i know a thing or too but im having some problems. iv recently discovered problems downloading from rapidshare when using firefox. instead of files downloading they will save only to disk resulting in the file being unusable. downloading using IE works as normal but i prefer the use of firefox. anyone offer some help??? much appreciated
