you don't need to cancel ask your current isp for the MAC code and the account with the isp will cancel after 30 days that is the purpose of a MAC code. if you want to make sure it has been cancelled just cancel the direct debit with your bank once you are live with syour new isp. feel free to cancel and get a MAC code it will take longer as a cease will be placed on the line from old isp and it will probably take longer for sky to set you up. i know this as i work in sky in the broadband deptartment and i recieve alot of calls regarding this and when i investage with BT that is the result. so in easy terms incase i have confused anyone, call your current ISP and request a MAC code call sky and give them it if you want to go to sky for broadband. you are supposed to still have internet access until sky take over so any problems with loss of internet call the old isp and demand it is switched back on. hope this helps you and any more questions i am happy to help!
