Internet connection drops out

I've recently upgraded from a USB modem to a Netgear Wireless Modem/Router and a Netgear wireless USB adaptor. Since the upgrade, the internet connection cuts out on the computer yet the lights on the router indicate that it is OK and the signal strength shown on my PC is Good. I have replaced the USB adapror but to no avail. any suggestions?
