Re: sky broadband

Hi, im in Carrickfergus, about 600 yards from the exchange and on the MID up to 8mb.
I get between 6.6 and 7.1 down and 358 up normally.
However tonight 20.00 hours im "only" getting 2.8 down.

Busy period i think.

Sky so far seems reliable and i have been with them now since the end of July, the only problem at the moment is my SNR drops very low ( 1.6 at the moment) after about a couple hours, causing web pages to appear slow.
A quick Reboot sorts the problem, but Im on their LLU network and using their own Router ( Netgear 834GT ), so im not sure if this will stabilize in the future. Im told theres no training on LLU unlike BT IP stream.

You can use your own Router, see Skyuser.co.uk, although its not approved by sky, but many are, and i have a new LINKSYS WAG200 sitting here, and it works ok with sky. see Here
