This applies to the BT Voyager 105 ADSL modem. I had the same error when trying to install this modem that a lot of people have had, i.e.: "Can't get registry value: Key=software\GlobespanVirata\Adsl value=driverType" The solution I discovered for this was to go to the following location in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE Right click on the SOFTWARE folder and create a new key and call it "GlobespanVirata". Right click on this new key and create another key inside it called "adsl". You should now have: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->GlobespanVirata->Adsl Right click on "adsl" and create a new string value called "annexType". Repeat this step, creating values with the names "driverDir", "driverType", "ispSection", "layer3Protocol", "modulation", "vci" and "vpi". Now try to install the modem drivers. If you get an error that says another value cannot be read from the registry, note the name of it and create it as you did above in the same place. Once you no longer see these error messages you should see a regular installer window. I got this, but then it failed. However - simply run it again and it should install fine as it did for me. If not, reboot, and try again. I hope this helps. |
